The Velveteen Rabbit
By: Margery Williams
Illustrations by William Nicholson
Genre: Fantasy

This book is my all time favorite childrens story.  I remember reading it as a child and the story line never grows old.  I feel that the way it is written is beautifully constructed and imaginative.  While reading the story, one becomes enchanted with the little boy who loves his bunny and spends all of his time playing and sleeping beside him.  The bunny is so pleased when the boy calls him real, but is later saddened when he grows ill.  The bunny becomes contaminated with the boys germs and is to be burned. The nursery fairy comes to his rescue, and he is turned into a real bunny!  Everytime I read this story I begin to cry.  It is so sweet, innocent, and wonderful I'm not sure who wouldn't!
